For example our Zone amplifiers are professional grade full range power amplifiers capable of high output levels without distortion, with individual channel adjustment, ensuring pure and uncompromised listening pleasure whatever the source input. Our amps are also compact 1U rack mountable, making installation and access hassle free. This also simplifies power and heat management, which we take care of.

These amplifiers we find compare favourably to other types of custom install variants which mount in wall cavities [in back boxes], ceiling voids or are built into the ceiling speakers. These tend to be lower powered, require more space than is generally available in standard voids, and then one may have to overcome power supply, heat and access issues.

There are naturally exceptions to this rule, but then these models come at a premium, another factor that Kudos has considered very carefully in our component choice.

Centralising the amplifiers means you have total access and control. We run very high grade [automotive grade] low loss speaker cable to speakers, ceiling or otherwise. Speakers are generally chosen for their ‘range’ and sensitivity characteristics resulting in audio as it is intended, even in 2 channel scenarios. Ceiling/ wall speakers are very low profile capable of fitting in the tightest of spaces and where appropriate they are magnetically shielded so the video picture is never compromised when mounted adjacent to a plasma or LCD screen.

The same extends to DVD, CD players and Media servers. Professional rack mount variants have been designed to operate under stress conditions; long even continuous operation.

For the true audiophile, the high end CD players of choice would be those that have ‘clock and data recovery’ and/or ‘antijitter’ circuitry- a must for Classical music lovers. This warrants a whole new level of discussion.
