When connected correctly, for example, a plasma screen can behave not only as a TV, but also as a piece of artwork or a computer monitor, even if the computer itself is located elsewhere in the house. The latter has proved very popular with our clients enabling them to web-browse or casually work on documents in the comfort of their living or family room. Naturally this has also proved popular with the younger members of the family [or simply the ‘young at heart’] whereby computer games become a whole new experience on a big high definition screen!

A more basic example of convergence is the use of a common cable medium, Category 5e, to carry or deliver any form of media, voice, computing, audio & video including HD over the installed network. We are able to also deliver power down the Cat5 using Power over Ethernet technologies [PoE], although this is for the moment mostly for commercial applications and for relatively low power devices. But the next standard is due to launch very soon. What does this mean to you?
